Privacy Policy — Private Preview

This policy describes how the Review Scout Chrome extension (private preview) and this website handle information. It reflects the current build's real behavior.
1. What stays on your device
The extension stores its working data locally on your computer:
- In IndexedDB (local): saved review IDs, review text and ratings, product metadata, generated analysis results, and your notes.
- In extension storage (local): your settings and the translation cache.
Original reviews are kept separate from translations and from your judgements (inclusion/exclusion decisions and notes). Nothing in this data set is uploaded, synced, or shared by the extension.
2. No usage tracking or cloud sync
The extension does not collect usage analytics or telemetry. Review and research data stay on your device, without automatic uploads or cloud synchronization.
3. Network activity that does exist
The extension connects to Amazon when you browse product or review pages and request review samples. Review collection is user-initiated. Amazon supplies available website translations, so requesting new translations requires a network connection.
4. Exports, backups, and uninstall
Exports (CSV, Markdown, JSON) are entirely user-controlled: you decide what leaves your machine and where it goes. Backups you create are your own responsibility. Uninstalling the extension removes its local extension data.
5. This website
This site uses no statistical trackers, cookies for analytics, or contact forms. The hosting provider may process ordinary technical access logs (for example, to serve requests and keep the service running). The interactive workspace demo on this website stores its sample comparison groups, judgments and notes in your browser's own local storage for this site, separate from the extension's data. The demo's reset button removes those demo changes from your browser.
If you email us, your message and email address are handled by our email provider so we can respond.
6. Payments and licensing
The private preview has no production payment or licensing integration. If paid offerings are introduced later, this policy will be updated before payments launch.
